WHEN WILL EARTH DIE?

As you have already seen, the very existence of the Earth, and all the other planets in the solar system, depends upon the sun. You have seen how the sun provides enormous amounts of energy by the change of the gas hydrogen into the gas helium. But as with other 'engine' the fuel, that is the hydrogen, must slowly be used up. When this happens, as has already occurred with millions of other stars, the Sun will collapse and explode. The explosion will totally destroy the Earth and its neighbours. There is no need to worry unnecessarily,  will be at least another 5000 million years before the Sun explodes.

ALFRED NOBLE"S ACHIEVEMENT

We have probably heard of the six famous Noble prizes, awarded every year to the people who have made outstanding contributions to medicine, physics, chemistry, literature, economics and peace. Alfred Noble was made famous because he invented dynamite in 1867. It seems a little odd. A peace prize bearing the name of the inventor of dynamite!

QUOTABLE QUOTES

Life's a roller coaster, and you never know when it's going to take a turn.
TY PENNINGTON

The aging process has you firmly in its grasp if you never get the urge to throw a snowball.
MARILYN SMITH

Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
SCOTT ADAMS

Gossip is just news running ahead of itself in a red satin dress.
LIZ SMITH

Making a movie is like moving a piano. You are gonna get banged up.
BILL MURRAY

Being an icon is overblown. Remember an icon is moved by a mouse.
WILLIAM SHATNER

One of the few articles of clothing that a man won't try to remove from a woman is an apron.
MARILYN VOS SAVANT

A person without regrets is a nincompoop.
MIA FARROW

Don't waste a minute not being happy. If one window closes, run to the next window- or break down a door.
BROOKE SHIELDS

SOME FENG SHUI TIPS

Never place a mirror facing the main door of your house as all good luck will be reflected back and escape out of the door.

Mirrors in the bedroom especially those facing the bed are very unlucky and can even cause a divorce.

Toilet doors should always be kept closed as there is a lot of negative energy in the toilets. Keep a bowl full of salt in every toilet to absorb the negative energy.

It is auspicious to mop your house daily with salt water.

Brooms must be kept hidden as the brooms exposed to view are inauspicious.

INDIAN ARMY

An awesome video on you tube. I just loved it. You also watch it.
PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN.

HOW TO SOLVE A PROBLEM

Have a firm faith that for every problem, there is a solution.

Keep calm, tension blocks the flow of thought. Your brain cannot operate efficiently under stress.

Don't try to force an answer.

Keep your mind relaxed.

Solution will come on surface automatically.

Assemble all facts on paper. This makes the position clear.

Solution may be found in the roots of problem itself.

Pray to god for enlightenment to solve the problems.

STEPS TO SUCCESS

Keep smiling and greet everyone with a bright and cheerful 'Hello'.

'Speech is silver but silence is gold.' Never show off your knowledge listen to what others say.

Take interest in others' likes and dislikes rather than talking about your own and you will be really liked.

Never try to make others feel inferior.

Be diplomatic in taking action. Make a friendly relationship with everyone. Don't make enemies otherwise they will put across many problems for you.

Be hard-working because it is much more important than just being a diplomatic and jovial person.

While executing a plan, take every one's suggestion so that they feel important and happy but do what you feel is right. This way you will not only be successful but will emerge as a popular leader.

"Success is a journey, not a destination."

WEDDING FACADE

My attendance at a wedding function recently brought forward another aspect of Indian weddings. The weddings in India are only becoming a platform to show one's wealth and status. It is not a ceremony solemnizing true love in many cases. The matches are usually arranged just to match statuses of two families- sometimes overlooking the wishes of the bride and the groom. Parents invite just anyone who they can think of, to boast of the wealth they have. The girl and the boy just shrug off the event as fast as they can, and it's so tiring for them to meet just everyone at their wedding, people they don't even know! But then off course, it's not a practice that would fade away that easily. Until then, Weddings will remain tedious affairs.

AMY PERFORMS WITH A DRINK

Soul diva Amy Winehouse sipped red wine and looked unsteady at the Rock in Rio music festival in Madrid recently. Then, as tens of thousands cheered, she threw off a pair of stilettoes in favour of white moccasins, donned a white electric guitar and settled into an intense rendition of some of her best known songs, including Rehab. Winehouse delivered a strong vocal performance accompanied by her octet plus two male backing vocalists.

SRK SERVED NOTICE

Shah Rukh Khan has been served a notice by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for allegedly using a residential property for commercial purposes. The actor has started work for his production company Red Chilly Entertainment Limited in the residential building and has built a swimming pool and a gymnasium.

EMINEM SUED

A man has sued Eminem, claiming the rapper punched him two years ago while they were in the bathroom of a Detroit strip club. The Detroit News reports that Milad Jarbou of Royal Oak filed the lawsuit in Oakland Country Circuit Court seeking more than $25,000 in damages. Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mather's 3, wasn't charged following reports of an incident at the club in 2006. The strip club is on Eight Mile Road, the border between Detroit and the northern suburbs made famous by Eminem's hit 2002 film 8 Mile.

JUST A DECADE MORE TO SAVE EARTH

SAVE FUEL: Car-pool with your colleagues. Save fuel as well as help the ecosystem by emitting lesser carbon dioxide in the air.

OZONE FRIENDLY: Use perfumes, deodrants and creams which don't contain chloro fluoro carbons which hit the ozone layer directly. It can be easily found out by looking at the information on the product.

SAVE WATER: Turn off those taps while brushing teeth and shaving. Restrict shower bath to once a week and make use of bucket water for a bath.

IRRIGATE: Reuse kitchen water to irrigate the plants.

AFFORESTATION: Plants trees in and around your neighborhood. Not only it makes surroundings green, it also supplies your daily dose of oxygen.

TURN OFF: Switch off the extra lights and the T.V. when no one is watching it. Inculcate this habit in kids too.

SWITCH: White light consumes less power than yellow light. Try to switch as far as possible.

WALK: Leave your car behind when going for short distances.

OUTDOOR GAMES: Teach kids how to play these games rather than computer one's. Also encourage them to ride bicycles. Not only is it a good exercise, it saves monthly fuel consumption.

USE CLOTH: Avoid using plastic bags. Opt for cloth/paper bags. The produce won't get affected.

RACHEL CARSON

In 1962, the American marine biologist and writer Rachel Carson (1907-64) published a book called THE SILENT SPRING. In it, she warned that the indiscriminate use of pesticides and weedkillers was poisoning the natural world. Her pioneering book was fundamental in starting the environmental movement and in making ecological information accessible to the public.

LIVING IN SPACE

Daily life for an astronaut includes all the usual things, such as breathing, eating, sleeping and going to the bathroom. The big difference, however, is living in weightless conditions. Sleeping astronauts float around the space craft unless tethered down, and using the toilet has to be carefully controlled. Astronauts need daily exercise to keep fit in the weightless conditions of space.

SPACE FOOD
Meals on the space shuttle are prepared from 70 different foods and 20 drinks. The meal tray is traped down and the food eaten with the hand or cutlery. liquids are sucked from cartons or tubes.

SPACE TOILET
Astronauts outside the spacecraft "go to the toilet" in their space suit, where the waiste materials are collected. Inside the craft, they use the space toilet, making sure they are firmly strapped to the seat. Thewaste is sucked away by the toilet and collected in a secure unit.

The post office has a great charm at one point of our lives. when you have lived to my age, you will begin to think letters are never worth going through the rain for.
JANE AUSTEN, novelist

All charming people, i fancy, are spoiled. It is the secret of their attraction.
OSCAR WILDE, poet

Charm is a way of getting the answer yes without asking a clear question.

STOCK MARKETS

HOW TO EXCHANGE WORKS
Rather than buy shares directly from a company, investors deal with brokers who are based at the stock market.Dealers work out the share prices by balancing the shares on offer with the current demand. Investors hope to buy shares before they rise in value and to sell them when the prices is at its height, but it is usually difficult to predict exactly when this will be. Increasingly, brokers rely on computers to keep in touch with prices worldwide.

VENUS

Sunlight on the cloud tops makes Venus shine brightly in earth's sky. As it moves it appears to go through phases similar to those of the moon. The dense clouds trap the sun's heat to make it the hottest of the planets. The acid clouds and unbearable pressure make it doubly inhospitable. Beneath the clouds are volcanic plains of hot desert covering about two-thirds of the planet.

BENEATH THE CLOUDS
Radar equipment on board spacecraft have "seen" through Venus's clouds. The most successful craft, Magellan, mapped 98 per cent of its surface in the 1990s.About two days of mapping were used to produce this picture of Maat Mons, the largest shield volcano on Venus.

THE BEATLES

JOHN LENNON played guitar, PAUL McCartney played bass, GEORGE HARRISON played lead guitar, and RINGO STARR played the drums. Together they form THE BEATLES - the most famous and influential group in the history of popular music. Their songs dominated the 1960s, when people believed that music could change the world, and the songwriting skills of Lennon and McCartney have ensured that their music lives on. Their songs still influence many musicians today.

BAROQUE ART

The term "Baroque" describes a style of 17 Th century European art. Rome, the centre of the Catholic church, was its birthplace. during the 16 Th century, the christian church split into Roman Catholic and Protestant factions. By the 17Th century, the catholic church was using art to spread its teachings. To appeal to the viewer, it promoted a style of art that was theatrical and emotional. Painters was encouraged to use light and shade for dramatic contrasts, sculptors to show figures in dynamic poses. To achieve these effects, artists had to develop great technical skills.
BERNINI
The Italian painter, sculptor, and architect Gianlorenzo Bernini (1598-1680) was an outstanding influence on Baroque art. He had an exceptional ability to convey great emotion and drama in stone, designed to inspire those who saw his work to greater faith. This sculptor depicts the vision of St. Teresa, in which an angel pierced her with an arrow.

ROMANTICISM

The early 19Th century in Europe is known as the Romantic Age. it was, in part, a reaction to 18Th-century art, which has emphasized balance and order.Romantic artists questioned the place of human beings in the universe. They stressed the importance of human emotion and the imagination, and celebrated the wild power of nature in dramatic landscape painting.
The Lonely Universe
The German artist Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) was spiritually inspired by natural landscapes. There is an intense mysticism to this painting, as a solitary figure contemplates the mighty Alps.

METAMORPHOSIS

The development from an aquatic larva that breathes through gills, or spiracles, to an air-breathing adult is called Metamorphosis. it involves the growth of legs and the loss of the tail in frogs and toads.
EGGS
Amphibian eggs are laid singly, in clumps, or in strings of clear "jelly" called Spawn. They have no shell and require a moist environment to survive.

ARCTIC OCEAN

The Arctic is the smallest and shallowest of the world's oceans. Most of its surface is covered by a frozen mass of floating ice about 2 m (6 ft) thick. The North Pole lies in the centre of the Arctic Ocean on drifting pack ice.
ICEBERGS
Giant icebergs break off glaciers in Greenland and drift south into the North Atlantic Ocean. They rise up to 120 m (400 ft) above sea level. as only a fraction of an iceberg shows above water, they are shipping hazard.

CARL LEWIS

In 1984, American Carl Lewis (born in 1961) won Olympic golds in the 100m, 200m, 4-by-100-m relay, and the long jump. he won five more gold medals in later Olympics and retained his long jump title three times (1988-96), becoming only the second athlete in history to win four golds in one event.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT

EARLY LIFE
Alexander was born in 356 BC, the son of king Philip 2 of Macedon. As a young man he went on military campaigns with his father. Alexander won fame for taming a wild black horse called Bucephalus, which stayed with him throughout his whole life.
ARISTOTLE
Alexander was taught by the Athenian philosopher Aristotle (384-322BC). Aristotle's interests ranged from politics and morality to biology and literature. he shared his enthusiasm for new ideas with his young pupil.

AIRPORTS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

A large airport can have a devasting impact on the local environment. Clearing the land to build an airport destroys carefully balanced ecosystems, while the air pollution can harm wildlife, and the noise may scare some animals away.
AIRPORT ECOSYSTEMS
Since airports cover such vast areas, birds and animalscan also move into these areas and establish new ecosystems, undisturbed by people.

litrature

what is literature?
Literature is a work of art in words. it is writing that carries strong and lasting value through beauty or emotional power. The oldest form of literature is oral poetry, which was handed down by word of mouth and only later put into writing. other forms include plays, novels, and short stories. Letters, journalism, speeches, and diaries can also be literature if they are especially well written.
Literature expresses the writer's thoughts, hopes and fears. But now everything that is written is literature. Writing becomes literature only if it is well written and of lasting interest to people of many societies and different generations. Some times writer's try to change the world in which they live, by protesting against injustice and influencing the opinions of people of governments.
